This weekend was very busy. On Saturday we went to Lenox (I've been there a couple of times this summer) to watch a Tub Parade. The only tub I know is a bathtub and I did not understand how bathtubs could be a parade - but that's not what it was! A long, long time ago people used to come from the city to their summer homes and they drove their carriages from the train station (this was before cars). The carriages were called tubs. So this was people pretending to drive from the train station to their homes!
We got there early so we just hung out. I was hoping nobody would fire this cannon - I know they make a very loud noise!
This was a very little horse - there was also a very little donkey
I was very good and just watched the horses. Some dogs, though, were barking.
The horses went by two times. Then they went to Shakespeare and Company to do a demonstration. We got in our car and drove there - we ended up at the end of the parade because cars are much faster than horses!
We watched the demonstrations - they were short because it was raining pretty hard. It looked like my rally obedience but with horses.
Then this morning we went to Price Chopper in Great Barrington to watch the Josh Billings race start off. I have been to the plaza many, many times and have never seen so many cars and people - and I have never seen so many bicycles in one place.
These little boys really liked me - I got lots of pats so I licked their noses!
After all the bikes left, we drove to Lenox to watch the water part of the race. I got to swim while we waited!
And we sat on this wobbly dock - but I was not scared at all because Raisins are very brave
The boats started way on the other end of Stockbridge Bowl. I couldn't see them very well so we left. We did not have time to stay and watch the running part of the race but that's OK - I've seen lots of people running before.
I am so tired - I want to just go home and take a nap.
